While this doesn’t technically include two movies, this recasting does include one movie. That’s because Buffy the Vampire Slayer was actually a movie released in 1992 before it became a television show.
When Joss Whedon decided to transform it into a show, he considered using Kristy Swanson, who played Buffy in the movie. However, he eventually decided against it and believed that Sarah Michelle Gellar was a much better fit. It seems as though this decision worked wonders for the show’s popularity.
