Harry Potter’s The Fat Lady is the woman who guards the entrance to Gryffindor’s common room. More accurately, her figure in paintings does, but that doesn’t make her any less real.
Originally played by Elizabeth Spriggs, The Fat Lady has gone through some big changes when director Alfonso Cuarón stepped in. He replaced Spriggs with veteran British comedienne Dawn French for the third film in the movie series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
