Despite getting killed off in the first act of Thor: Ragnarok, Fandral played a major role in Asgard’s mythology, as a member of the Warriors Three. Zachary Levi was cast, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with the third season of his TV show, Chuck.
The role then went to Josh Dallas, who had to quit after the first film after receiving a role on Once Upon a Time. Fortunately, Levi was available to take over and play the part he was originally meant to play.
