Underwood has a place in history as one of the greatest country singers around, and she’s got some good company with her. Growing up, Dolly Parton was one of her idols, and Carrie couldn’t believe her luck when she finally got to meet the great woman herself. The two crossed paths at the 50th annual Country Music Awards where Underwood was nominated for (and subsequently won) Female Vocalist of the Year. Although she came away with a win, it was meeting Parton that was the real highlight of her night.
