Underwood’s achievements are amazing for someone who hailed from a singing competition. When Underwood was on “American Idol,” these competitions weren’t as common as they are now, so a lot more people were invested in them. It was obvious from the moment that Carrie auditioned that she was destined for stardom. She was the one to beat, with Simon Cowell in awe of her rendition of “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” by Bonnie Raitt. Fans felt the same way, which is probably why she was never up for elimination.
