It’s impossible to imagine the world without Underwood’s music, but there was a time when she almost gave up on her passion. When she was only 14, she had a major audition with Capitol Records which looked hopeful. However, her deal with them fell through, and it left the singer feeling crushed. Not wanting to go through that pain again, she gave up on her dream and returned to school, eventually going on to study journalism and mass communication at Northeastern State University. Thankfully, she later changed her mind.
