The Orville’s robotic engineering officer, Isaac is played by Mark Jackson. Isaac is a member of the non-biological artificial race from the planet Kaylon 1, a world where the inhabitants view all biological species, including humans, as inferior.
The Union offered the position to Isaac in an attempt to soothe over relations between the two powers, and Isaac accepted, looking at it as a chance to study human life and behavior including slang, humor, and relationships.
