As the mother of the Hennessy family, Cate certainly had her hands full. Not only did she have to deal with three children navigating adolescence, but she also had her job as a nurse keeping her on her toes. The fact she stayed in control of everything was a miracle, especially as she was still the most composed person in the family. Of course, her husband helped to carry the burden until he tragically passed away while out buying milk.
The loss of Paul affected Cate profoundly, and she never really moved on from him. However, with her family around, she managed to pull through. She even ended up getting a job at the school so she could be there for her kids. Unfortunately, the last thing Bridget, Kerry, and Rory wanted was their mom hanging around at school trying to be their friend.
