This exchange, if anything, just proves that the person on the receiving end of a ‘knock knock’ joke has to be as eager to hear the joke as the person on the delivery side is to say it.
Clearly, this individual was not so keen to hear the joke, or they were just unfamiliar with how this popular joke actually works. Well, we have to applaud this joke maker’s efforts – they gave it two tries!
