The Royal Family takes their security very seriously, sometimes to the point of going over the top. However, they’ve seen firsthand just what happens when they let their guard down. Back in the ‘70s, Princess Anne nearly became the victim of a kidnapping.
This was because her security detail wasn’t prepared for an ambush. There was only one man involved in the attempt, but he had no trouble taking out four officers in an attempt to get his hands on the Queen’s daughter. Luckily, he didn’t succeed in his mission.
