The films to watch when you really cannot sleep

Twilight

There’s just something about the monotony of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s interactions in this film that can send us straight off to sleep. Both characters seem virtually lifeless, making their monotone way of speaking quite soothing. There is also a really great and familiar soundtrack to this movie. The action scenes are not too loud and mostly occur towards the end of the film, when we are already asleep anyway.

Clueless

This is an ideal film to snooze off to. It’s one of those great films that can be watched over and over again. There’s nothing to be missed because we already know what happens. There’s no flashy photography, no loud explosions, and nothing really exciting happens in this film at all. We watch Cher transform from a Beverly Hills brat into a mature woman who ends up with Paul Rudd’s character in the end.

Last Holiday

Comedy films leave us with a great warm and fuzzy feeling. Last Holiday starring Queen Latifah is one of those films. Drift off to la-la land with a smile, compliments of this super film. A woman takes a lavish vacation after finding out that she only has a few months to live. Her journey is one that generates smiles and a few good laughs.

Antz

While many adults are probably thinking, “but I don’t watch animated movies, I’m not a kid” think again because this film was never actually made for children. Woody Allen has one of those voices that just puts people to sleep. The animation is great, the storyline is superb, and it’s a good old familiar one. Spend an evening with Z as he fights the bureaucracy and brings about a revolution in his colony.
