Mac vs. PC – the real winner

If you’re looking to buy a new laptop, it’s easy to just walk into your local tech store and walk away with the best deal, right? Well, not quite – although we wish it was that easy! Because technology has advanced so much in the past few decades, there is now more choice than ever, and this can make things even more difficult. Suddenly you’re standing in the middle of a tech store, tears rolling down your face, a Mac in one hand and a PC in the other, with absolutely no clue which one to buy. Luckily, you can wipe away the tears, because we have the real winner!

The pros of a Windows PC

You know what you’re getting. The Windows software is something we’ve been using since the dawn of time. Okay, since we dialed up our desktop computer for the first time. It has the tell-tale ‘Start’ button in the left-hand corner, and the controls are easy.
You get all of the added extras. When you think of Windows, you probably think of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. In fact, you probably use them in your day-to-day life. By buying yourself a Windows PC, you will be able to run all of these programs with ease.
There are varying price ranges. Windows is one of the biggest players in the game of laptops, and they try to ensure that they have something for everyone. This means that there are varying prices, from a hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars! You can pick the best price for you.

Mac vs. PC – the real winner

The pros of a Mac

They are innovative and attractive. If we’re being totally honest with you, the Apple Mac is one of the prettiest laptops in the game… if not the prettiest! Apple has spent years perfecting the slick and stylish look of their Mac, and they have certainly done a good job.
The hardware is foolproof. The hardware and the operating system of an Apple Mac takes a while to get used to, but will soon win you over. They have certain ways of doing things, but you’ll wonder why you’ve been using Windows for so long with this in the world.
They are much safer. Apple try to build in the latest antivirus software within all of their products. While you can add your own programs on top of the built-in service, you don’t always need to. This means you are safer from viruses and hackers. What could be better than that?

The cons of a Windows PC

They are not always as safe as you would like. Because most people own Windows PC’s, there are more people out there who are trying to take advantage of your laptop usage. They will try to con you, try to hack you, and try to inflict virus after virus on your Windows PC. This means you may have to shell out for a more expensive antivirus program.
It’s hard to know which ones are the best. Although having countless Windows PC’s to choose from can be a bonus, it can also be a curse. Which one do you choose? How do you know if its the right one for you? You may end up walking away with a dud.

Mac vs. PC – the real winner

The cons of a Mac

They are expensive. There’s no doubt about it; an Apple Mac is expensive! There is no leeway on the price, and Apple rarely have deals or sales on their products. The least expensive model will cost you around $1000, which is a lot of money for a laptop.

They don’t carry the normal additions. If you’re looking to buy a laptop that will allow you to watch DVD’s or plug in your USB drive, it’s fair to say that the Apple Mac isn’t for you – because they don’t have these features!

Right now you might be even more confused as to whether you want to buy an Apple Mac or a Windows PC – and it completely depends on what you want it for. If you want everyday usage, we’d go for a Windows. If you want a sleek design with intricate features that aid design and creativity, we’d go for a Mac!
