While fans might initially back away from the idea of a new Men in Black film, they may just be in for a delightful treat. Trailers have been released for the latest movie within the Men in Black franchise, but it doesn’t star any of the old characters. So, while we’ve said our goodbyes to the legendary Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, we are saying hello to an entirely different, and equally as legendary cast. However, that’s not all producers have in store for this show; there are far more twists and turns, so keep your eyes peeled. Here’s what we know so far.
We have an official title
While this might not seem exciting at first glimpse, the ‘international’ actually shows how there is so much scope for this movie. It implies that they are expanding further than the USA, which is where the previous three were set. So, we have a wider universe, anything else?
We have some A-List names
Yes, that’s right, and not just anyone either. If you’re a Marvel fan, then you’ll recognize the name, Tessa Thompson, although you might know her better as Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok. Thompson must have made quite the impression because here she is now starring next to none other than Chris Hemsworth, co-starring in the next Men in Black movie. So, we have two of Hollywood’s coolest actors, could it get any better than that? It sure could because we also have the likes of Liam Neeson. If this line up doesn’t excite you, then we’re not sure what will. That’s not to mention that Emma Thompson will be returning as Agent O.
That’s not all
That’s not all that’s changed, they also have a new director taking the helm, as F. Gary Gray joined the crew in creating the film everyone has been waiting for and hasn’t even known it. F. Gary Gray has directed movies such as The Italian Job and Fate of the Furious. However, while there have been many new faces on the scene, it’s not going to be totally different as many of the producers of the original films are still on board, overseeing the project and giving it a similar feel to the previous ones, even if many things have changed.
Cameos
These days it appears to be a trend to have previous actors or key influencers have a cameo in the movie, even if it is just brief. However, it doesn’t seem as if the Men in Black producers have caught on, as so far there have been no talks of having previous Men in Black stars having their own cameo. While no-one should get their hopes up, there is still time, and things may change.
Pictures released
Of course, we have had a sneak peek at the trailer, and we are most definitely excited, it looks like everything a Men in Black film should be. Some pictures of the sets have been released, and some of the stars have even shown themselves having a great time.
The film is currently set to be released in Summer 2019, so there is a minimal wait for it to all kick off!
